RUSSIA’S FIRST TANKS

Thematic exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of the legendary Tsar Tank built by Moscow’s Khamovniki Works in 1917 and tested in the environs of the town of Dmitrov.
Apart from Lebedenko’s heavy wheeled tank the exhibition also shows:
– A. Porokhovshikov’s “Off-roader”, one of the world’s first tanks (1915);
– original projects developed in the Russian Empire, such as the S. Navrotsky’s mobile armored battery named “Refined Turtle”, I. Semchishin’s “Oboy” rolling fortress, I. Pakkula’s “Land Battleship”, V. Mendeleyev’s super-heavy tank.
Exhibits include some items found in 2015 at the place where Lebedenko’s tank had been tested.
The exhibition is on the first floor of the Museum.
No pre-registration is required to the see the exhibition which is open until 24 December 2017
